Grilled Banana - Indonesian Style

I don't exactly remember the name of this dessert. I learnt about it when we dine in an Indonesian restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. It's always a must for us to complete our meal with a dessert. So, I order this and we were mesmerized with the taste and presentation.

It was so good until l I had the urge to recreate it in my kitchen. And the result was almost similar to the original recipe. Ever since that day I had prepared it several times for our mini family gathering. I received good compliments from them and so I am sharing this with all of you. A very simple dessert that would go well for any occasion.

It's a very simple dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients :

Ripe bananas


Vanilla ice cream

Peanut candies

Palm sugar syrup

Hawaiian coconut flakes

Preparation Method :

Grilled banana

1. Heat the pan under medium flame and smear butter.

2. Now place the whole peeled bananas.

3. Cook for few minutes on one side. Then flip to another side. Add more butter. Cook till the bananas turn little soft.

4. Remove from the heat and let it cool completely.

Palm sugar syrup

1. Melt 1 block of palm sugar with 1 cup of water. Add about 1 tsp sugar and 1 knotted screw pine leaves. Once done, let it cool.

Peanut Candies

1. Crush the peanut candies. Keep aside.

Grilled Banana assemble time!

1. Place the grilled banana in a plate.

2. Serve with vanilla ice cream scoop. 2 scoop will be enough.

3. Drizzle with palm sugar.

4. Top with peanut candies and coconut flakes.

Ready to serve. Voila
